Telkomsel (News - Alert), Indonesia’s largest mobile service provider, has selected proactive monitoring from Alcatel-Lucent to deliver improved cellular communication experiences to more than 121 million of its customers.
Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) Proactive Care Services offer early insight into issues that may be developing in the network, and offers recommendations that allow service providers to cater to problems before they affect services, revenue and aspects of the customer experience.
End-users always count on their network services. In the contemporary competitive market, the service provider’s product, and its competitive edge, is not necessarily in the service provided.
It also lies in the experience they offer to their users.
The initial agreement between Telkomsel and Alcatel-Lucent concentrates on proactive monitoring of the optical communications network. This network is used by Telkomsel for the transportation of data services.
Allowing Telkomsel to designate resources to ensure network availability and guarantee uninterrupted service, Alcatel-Lucent’s suite of Proactive Services predict, prevent and prioritize network problems.
To offer optimum performance and reporting, this will allow Telkomsel to define important performance parameters based on industry landmarks.
Bobby Rasyidin, president and director of Alcatel-Lucent Indonesia, said, “Telkomsel has recognized the valuable return on investment that Alcatel-Lucent’s Proactive Services provide in terms of customer satisfaction. Our solution provides efficient and effective measurement of service quality, enabling the system to recommend actions to Telkomsel to ensure their services remain best-in-class.”
Recently, the company was selected by Telefonica, one of the world's leading communications service providers. With this partnership, the company looks to upgrade the operator's Internet protocol (IP) networks. With one of the industry's most powerful core network routers, the Alcatel-Lucent 7950 Extensible Routing System (XRS), this project will initially be implemented in Argentina and the Czech Republic.
This agreement makes Telefonica (News - Alert) one of the first service providers in the world to install the new core router.
