WiSpry, Inc. recently unveiled a unique device-incorporated Antenna Tuning Developers’ Kit especially for smartphones and tablets. SpryWare software is used in the Developers’ Kit for optimizing and controlling the tuner during the assessment and development phases.
Unlike the conventional assessment kits, the latest offering is very small, supporting before time assessments inside a precise form-factor smartphone or tablet offering. Retrofits of current offerings are also supported by the developer’s kit, allowing the uncovering of prospective benefits in antenna performance due to tuning in a rapid manner.
The acceptance of performance-improving, tunable RF offerings will receive a boost with the WiSpry offering, ensuring quicker, more flexible LTE (News - Alert) devices.
“WiSpry’s new evaluation kit will greatly simplify and streamline the process of integrating state-of-the-art antenna tuning capabilities into smartphones and tablets,” said Victor Steel, VP of Products, WiSpry. “The kit is ideal for OEMs looking to deliver today’s slimmest and most popular form factors without compromising performance, and it will serve as a much-needed bridge between our standard product evaluation kits and the actual consumer experience. With this small form factor evaluation board and an aggressive size reduction roadmap for its product lines, WiSpry is enabling integration of high-performance antenna tuning in the thinnest of LTE devices.”
“We now cover all the bases from advanced simulation models and traditional evaluation kits to this cutting edge small form factor development kit,” he said.
WiSpry’s well-accepted WS2017 and WS2018 broadband tuner products will be initially shipped along with the development kit. WiSpry’s third-generation WS1033, optimized exclusively for LTE applications, will also be offered with the latest development kit.
Subsequently, the entire range of WiSpry’s next-generation miniaturized tuners will be supported by the latest kit, after they have been launched in the market.
A WS2017/WS2018 or WS1033 board, a USB interface board and SpryWare software have been integrated in all WiSpry assessment kits. These kits also include simulation models, calculated data and the necessary connectors and cables, ensuring incorporation with mobile platforms in a rapid and simplified manner.
Devices can be controlled in MIPI RFFE 1.1 mode and several SPI modes with the SpryWare software and interface board.
