Nokia is Now Part of the Bristol Is Open Initiative10/11/2016
- The way cities operate is changing as many of the infrastructures become part of a connected system, bringing together people and machines as part of the Internet of Things (IoT). The city of Bristol in the United Kingdom has gone a step further in the development of this technology by being the first open programmable city. Using sensors throughout the city, officials will be able to respond to traffic conditions, waste management, entertainment events, energy supply and more. Nokia has now become part of the pioneering programmable city initiative in Bristol, making it the first major telecoms vendor to do so.
