Alcatel-Lucent, a provider of fixed, mobile and converged broadband networking, IP and optics technologies, applications and services, recently appointed Munish Seth as country head for its Indian business. Seth takes over from Vivek Mohan, who now heads Alcatel-Lucent’s (News - Alert) global services business. Seth will report to Rajeev Singh-Molares, president of the Asia-Pacific region.

Seth has 20 years of expertise and experience in the telecoms industry. Earlier, Seth had been in charge of Customer Solution and Support for Alcatel-Lucent’s Asia-Pacific region. Prior to that, he was chief technical officer and director Bids & Proposals for Alcatel-Lucent, India. He has been instrumental in strengthening Alcatel-Lucent position in India by introducing innovative business models, and helping service providers maximize technology investments. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Seth was chief technical officer at Tekelec (News - Alert).

Rajeev Singh-Molares, Alcatel-Lucent’s president for the Asia-Pacific region said that India is a key market for Alcatel-Lucent and for which the company is need a strong leader. He is also confident that Munish will strengthen India’s contribution to our global business. Seth holds a BE in electronics & communication engineering and also a master’s degree in business administration.
