ERCOM (News - Alert), a provider of telecom solutions and services that aims at enhancing the usage and confidence in telecommunication networks, has announced to launch its latest offering, named ‘AePC 12 users pack system’ for ePC emulation. Recently, the company had introduced UE-L1L2L3 and UE-L1L2 modules that improve test coverage on the Uu interface, which features 1024 User Equipments or ‘UEs’ emulated in one chassis for modem and system load testing.

Leveraging the AePC 12 users pack system, a Mobipass product, the consumers will be able to get an economical and convenient solution for building up to 12 test platforms enclosing up to 12 independent LTE (News - Alert) core systems emulators for functional test. The solution cuts down the test cost investment for the customers, offering them a simple setup equipped with real core.

It offers two groups of six independent test platforms of AePC module-P type, and offers additional functionalities for core emulation such as up to 4 3GPP versions on each test platform; S1 flex, S1 handover with MME & S-GW relocation and Security mechanism with HSS database. Additionally, it supports IPv4 and IPv6 and enables traffic shaping on S1 interface for both control plane and user plane, apart from P-GW emulation and route to external application server.

The solution by ERCOM is comprehensively flexible; features debug facilities for complete core emulation and can be executed in automatic mode or using test script builder option. A number of users can deploy the solution to independently update parameters of its emulated core accordingly to his test plan without affecting other users. With the help of two groups of 6 Mobipass, the customers can also introduce new features in a secure environment, upgrading each group independently.

The Mobipass family of products for Long Term Evolution or ‘LTE’ consists of a number of components, such as an ‘eNodeB Mobipass tester’ for functional and load test, a ‘UE-L1L2L3 Mobipass emulator’ for functional and load test, a ‘UE-L1L2 Mobipass emulator’ for Modem test, an ‘ePC Mobipass emulator’ for functional and load test and the newly launched ‘AePC 12 users pack system’ for automatic ePC emulation.

In February 2010, ERCOM announced to launch the new ‘ePC Mobipass-emulator’ for validation of LTE handset and base station. The solution is an analysis and decoding tool over S1 interface at control plane and user plane, and acts as an automatic LTE core network responding to the handset requests and generates ePC traffic with embedded application server.
