Alcatel-Lucent Application Partner Program Adds 911 ETC to Roster

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

Alcatel-Lucent has added 911 ETC, an E911 Hosted solutions provider, to the growing list of companies under its Alliance and Application Partner Program.

The Everett-Wash.-based company helps businesses implement and maintain E911 solutions for Voice over Internet Protocol and TDM to ensure accurate location information for 911 calls. By certifying 911 ETC as a new member, the firm’s application is now compatibility with the Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) OmniVistaTM 4760 Network Management System for SMBs and enterprises, officials said.

The Alcatel-Lucent Alliance and Application Partner Program, or “AAPP,” helps partners build, integrate, test, deploy and promote their applications across Alcatel-Lucent’s portfolio of solutions for enterprises, the company said. The program is designed to support companies that develop communications applications that are based on Alcatel-Lucent's enterprise solutions, including IP infrastructure products, IP telephony products and communications applications.

The program offers three membership levels, including Open Developers, Members and Partners. Alcatel-Lucent offers members technical and marketing support to meet their individual needs, officials said.

More than 100 certified applications and 300 registered companies are involved in the AAPP, according to the company. The partnerships help keep Alcatel-Lucent solutions at the forefront of the communications industry, officials said.

“911 ETC is excited at the prospect of providing such a needed and strategic application in conjunction with Alcatel-Lucent,” Bill Svien, executive vice president, for 911 ETC, said in a statement. “The partnership combines the capabilities of both companies to offer enterprise clients unsurpassed security and safety. Alcatel-Lucent’s worldwide strength in telephony and ETC’s dominance in E-911 solutions should prove to be a winning combination.”

Already, 911 ETC has Alcatel-Lucent customers with its solution in place, company officials told TMCnet. One customer, the Department of Interior, is using the solution, which features from than 3,000 endpoints, the company said.
