More and more companies are migrating to the cloud to access applications, infrastructure, communications, security and more as a service. While this has introduced incredible levels of efficiency, it is also getting increasingly more difficult to monitor all of the services under one platform. Unigma is a unified cloud monitoring tool designed to give MSP’s, CSP’s and IT service providers more reach into the biggest IaaS clouds like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google (News - Alert) Compute Engine.
These service providers will now have a single pane of glass to monitor, manage and report on end users’ clouds. This will allow them to offer their customers services that deliver a better user experience as they continue to rely on cloud solutions for most of their IT needs.
With Unigma, service providers can build their own branded dashboards with their logo and sub-domain that delivers visibility with real-time metrics for multiple customers and clouds. Customer facing and internal reports can be created, as well as monitoring and alert policies to automatically push them to ConnectWise (News - Alert), Kaseya and Autotask.
For service providers without monitoring experience, the Unigma solution has a 24/7/365 network operations center (NOC) that is built with a plug-and-play features so it can be integrated into the service provider's business model easily.
One of the challenges of cloud monitoring is each environment can be different. However, there are metrics that are common to all deployments. Unigma recommends some of the following key metrics to be followed by all service providers. These include”
- CPU utilization
- Network In/Out
- Desk writes and queue length
- Read/Write latency
- Available storage
- Failed database connection
By monitoring these and other metrics, service providers can gain the necessary visibility into performance and correlate alerts to streamline the troubleshooting process before a small problem becomes catastrophic.
The customer facing reporting feature of the solution provides options for sending reports to customers automatically so they can keep an eye on their infrastructure. This gets them involved so they can be proactive if and when an event takes place. In addition, a monitoring policy can be created in only two steps and applied to a single or multiple resources, customers or clouds.
"Unigma will revolutionize the way MSP’s, CSP’s (News - Alert) and IT service providers deliver services in the cloud. We are proud of what Unigma delivers and are looking forward to working with our partners to help them achieve their goals of extending their services into IaaS clouds," said Kirill Bensonoff, Unigma’s founder.
Unigma has been built for dynamic environments in which resources can be scaled at a moment's notice. The automatic discovery of the platform continues to monitor without having to install an agent or probe anywhere, because the monitoring takes place through an API with different increments.
A cloud monitoring strategy should be one of the many tools service providers offer as part of their product line. As more organizations migrate part or all of their IT needs to the cloud, Unigma gives service providers a solution to increase their revenue with an added value service that is now becoming mandatory.
General availability of Unigma is scheduled for March, 2016.
