AirTight Networks (News - Alert), a global player in cloud-managed Wi-Fi, has entered into an agreement with DataAssure, for the on-going deployment of Airtight 802.11ac Wi-Fi access points to be installed in the headquarters, showrooms and service centers of one of the world's leading vehicle services groups with regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
“We are excited to offer AirTight's unique technology to customers that are looking for a proven Wi-Fi solution which has been successfully deployed on a large scale by well-known brands,” said Stephen Hui, chief technology officer, DataAssure, in a statement.
Hong Kong-based DataAssure works with a variety of distributed enterprises, including retail, hospitality and education, where it plans to deploy AirTight's Social Wi-Fi & Analytics.
AirTight Social Wi-Fi is an innovative platform that integrates Wi-Fi access and social networking to facilitate omnichannel communication for enabling user communities and engagement.
Hui said that with the help of the AirTight Wi-Fi, the company has been able to penetrate the Hong Kong and Macau markets with aggressive pricing and superior pre- and post-sales support.
He said that the company’s automotive customer has operations in Europe, Asia Pacific, Russia and emerging markets.
“One of the reasons we recommended AirTight to them was the ability to manage the Wi-Fi infrastructure remotely, which aligns with our network operations philosophy and our goal is to expand the deployment to North and South Asia locations and beyond,” said Hui.
Steve Choi, managing director, Asia Pacific sales, AirTight Networks said that the fact that DataAssure switched from carrying Cisco (News - Alert) Meraki and Meru Networks to Airtight is a testament to the company’s products.
“Our 802.11ac products were available in the region ahead of the competition and we are the only vendor that has integrated wireless intrusion prevention (WIPS) in the access points,” said Choi.
He said that AirTight also offers a level of cost-effectiveness that allows DataAssure to meet its customers' budgets for flexible deployment models – both cloud-managed and on-premise.
Earlier in March, Hughes (News - Alert) Europe had announced that it has teamed with AirTight Networks to offer retailers a new, secure managed Wi-Fi service that combines PCI (News - Alert) wireless scanning and social analytics.
