Lower price points for smart mobile devices and faster wireless networks means video communications will soon become more common. While this will improve the way individuals and businesses communicate with each other, service providers will be facing more pressure to operate under increasingly lower margins. Gaining real-time insight into LTE (News - Alert) networks and future network technology is essential for service providers. A new joint solution between Napatech and ipoque will improve the quality of experience in mobile networks by accelerating network processing and application recognition to provide this insight into the networks.
Napatech (News - Alert), global supplier of network analysis adapters, and ipoque, provider of deep packet inspection (DPI) solutions, will be using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers to improve quality of experience (QoE) in mobile networks. Based on this collaboration network equipment vendors will be able to accelerate the way in which they can identify, measure and analyze video and VoLTE services with higher reliability under many different conditions at high speeds.
"ipoque and Napatech have a proven track record in delivering high-performance solutions. ipoque's PACE DPI engine offers highly accurate application classification and performance in record time, accelerated time to market and easy integration for vendors, and is well suited to the performance demands of mobile networks," said Dirk Czepluch, president and CTO of ipoque.
According the companies, the joint solution will provide Napatech's real-time network processing with ipoque's application recognition software up to Layer 7, which is critical for traffic steering of time sensitive VoLTE & video apps. The QoE will deliver analytics on mobile for video and voice in real-time with call time establishment, bit rate, jitter, call completion rate, packet loss, call duration, video and/or VoLTE calls and more.
The solution is currently deployed with key customers and it will be showcased throughout out the year.
"Our adapters' nanosecond precision enables extremely accurate measurements of time-sensitive services. This solution is another example of our commitment to deliver high-performance products that decrease time to market and risk," said Henrik Brill Jensen (News - Alert), CEO, Napatech.
Napatech has real-time analysis adapters with over 140,000 Ethernet ports deployed around the world designed for use with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) servers. The solutions it provides allow for rapid development of powerful appliances for high performance analysis with guaranteed real-time delivery of data speeds of up to 40 Gbps. This includes network monitoring and management, network security, network test and measurement and network optimization. The company is headquartered in Copenhagen, with offices in Mountain View, Andover, Washington D.C., Tokyo, Seoul and Sao Paulo.
