Comtech Telecommunications (News - Alert) Corp. designs, develops, produces and markets innovative products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions.
TMCnet in June reported that Comtech Telecommunications announced the company has received $3.6 million in orders. A military integrator had placed that order to supply various solid-state high-power amplifiers (SSPA).
This new order is for the mobile satellite communications (SATCOM) systems used by the military integrator. These systems are used in voice, data, video conferencing, Internet and high resolution video for military forces that operate in different regions of the world.
Keeping the unique needs of military in mind, Comtech Xicom (News - Alert) Technology Inc. manufactures a vast range of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers specially designed for military operations. The company’s Xicom’s SSPA products are designed to last long in challenging conditions where the military usually operates.
Xicom provides an extensive range of high power amplifiers. These amplifiers are ideal for satellite communication and are available in rack-mount configurations and also for outdoor applications.
The Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), offered by the company are rugged, highly efficient and reliable. It also provides Klystron Power Amplifiers (KPAs), Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs), and Block Upconverters (BUCs)
The company has been receiving orders for its products for a long time. In 2010, the company received a $1.3 million order for satellite communications equipment. It was reported that a telecommunications operator had selected Comtech’s bandwidth-efficient satellite modems to enable cellular backhaul network expansion in South America.
