Comptel, a provider of telecom business and operations software and services; and Alcatel-Lucent (News
- Alert), a provider of solutions in the field of networking and communications technology, have been contracted by a New Zealand-based telecommunications infrastructure company to provide it with a new Fiber Fulfillment and Inventory Solution for its open access fiber services.
Chorus asserted that it does not have direct contact with business and consumer customers, instead working in the background providing the support that helps connect New Zealanders with each other and the world by partnering with different phone and internet providers to enable access to its network, and assisting in the development of solutions that enhance both residential broadband and business services.
Andrew Miller, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent in New Zealand exclaimed, “Alcatel-Lucent’s successful collaboration with the National Broadband Network (News - Alert) initiative in Australia, combined with our specific local knowledge, made us the logical choice to lead this important project for Chorus. Providing a fulfillment and inventory system that is easily adaptable to the ultrafast broadband needs of Chorus’ customers is critical to the success of the network rollout.”
Comptel Fulfillment is an order fulfillment platform that blends a flexible approach to service design and build with robust, highly automated delivery capability across multiple networks and service platforms. It can connect customer order and service use while reducing costs, supporting service innovations and improving the quality of customer interactions with the communications service provider (CSP (News
- Alert)).
For Chorus, Alcatel-Lucent will act as the systems integrator for the Comptel Fulfillment CF8.0 implementation project, providing professional services consisting of project management – as well as the design, building, testing, and deployment of the operational support system (OSS) for the network.
Kari Jokela, vice president for Comptel Asia-Pacific added, “This deployment with Chorus demonstrates the continued traction of our Next Generation Fulfillment strategy, and we’re looking forward to seeing through the customer’s high-speed broadband rollout in New Zealand. Alcatel-Lucent’s expertise as a leading systems integrator complements Comptel’s flexible approach to service design, combined with our delivery capabilities, providing a fulfillment solution perfectly suited to Chorus’ unique requirements.”
