- Alert) services, recently announced that it entered into a partnership with Alcatel-Lucent. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, both companies will collaborate over the deployment of advanced IP-routing technology solutions to ensure convergence in du’s telecom services within the UAE.

There is a growing need for high-speed broadband access, IPTV services and mobile video, among other such services across the UAE. To address this need, du selected IP routing technology from Alcatel-Lucent, which will help in mitigating the need for managing multiple networks and ensure simplified network operations.
IP-routing technology solutions from Alcatel-Lucent will help du enhance its telecom services offerings by - driving the company’s next generation multiscreen TV service so its customers can easily access du TV on their smartphone, tablet or PC, via Wi-Fi or 3G. This will be powered by Alcatel-Lucent’s Multiscreen Video Platform.
Additionally, Alcatel-Lucent’s solutions will provide du with 4G LTE (News - Alert) coverage via IP-based technology and will offer transmission services solutions for small-medium enterprise size up projects. Using these solutions, du will be also be able to offer business customers with end-to-end and high tech solutions, which require bandwidth up to 1Gbps and beyond. It will also enhance speed, performance and availability of its home services, as well as business and mobile broadband services.
Along with converging services within a single network, du will also leverage Alcatel-Lucent’s routers to offer enhanced residential video and business network services to its clients. These services will be enhanced with capabilities, like video optimization and Application Assurance, thereby assuring clients of optimized quality levels always.
