Alcatel-Lucent's OpenTouch Conversation Certified by Apple on iOS6

OpenTouch Conversation (OTC) software from Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) offers a way to experience a conversation with rich communications at the users’ fingertips. It provides a seamless conversation across various media, multiple devices, with multiple parties, all within the same conversation, using a single client.

Recently, the company announced that OpenTouch Conversation for iPad has been certified by Apple (News - Alert) on iOS6. The company has also announced that this software is now available in the Apple App Store.

The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Conversation for iPad application can be used by anyone to download on an iPad. Apart from offering employees a productive way to use their tablets at work, OpenTouch Conversation (OTC) also provides support for mobility and the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) culture that companies identify as a potential area of growth.

OTC offers enterprise grade services with instant messaging, voice and video calls, and conferencing features, with the help of Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Communications platform. To be available soon on other standard commercially available platforms, the first version of OpenTouch Conversation is now provided on the iPad. The company has announced that the updates to OTC will be available in the App store

OTC enables users to experience each conversation starting on one device and transferring to another as desired, whether using enterprise SIP phones, smart deskphones, video end-points or BYODs such as laptops, smartphones and tablets, by taking advantage of the conversation layer, which is an integral part of the OpenTouch architecture.

Recently, the company partnered with Angola Cables, a consortium of Angolan telecommunications operators, to enhance the availability of high-speed Internet access and data services in Angola and other parts of the globe. The company stated that the 100G network will enable the transportation of large amounts of data traffic in Angola. This will contribute to enhancing the economy in Angola.
