Alcatel-Lucent (News
- Alert) has announced the introduction of solutions and the expansion of its partner ecosystem, designed to enhance the running of corporate networks.
The company is introducing an enhancement to its Application Fluent Network solution, which is an enterprise’s “intelligent answer” to managing demanding real-time application and BYOD environments, according to company officials.
Company officials said that the enhancement provides capabilities to automatically adjust and optimize the entire corporate network to effectively support mobile devices and real time applications in the local area network, the data center and across the wide area network.
The Application Fluent Network is built on Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise products including OmniSwitch 10k, OmniSwitch 6900 and the OmniSwitch 6850E. Company officials said that the product detects virtualized applications and applies a profile-driven policy, enabling the network to automatically adjust virtualized workload traffic, such as virtual desktops, to meet users’ service quality demands.
Additionally, the company has announced Citrix Ready verification for key components of the Application Fluent networking solution. In addition, the company is also introducing the expansion of its data center switching ‘ecosystem’ program, which is expected to enhance the performance and functionality of enterprise networks as businesses transition from traditional data center designs to cloud-ready networks.
Company officials said that the program expansion also includes new verifications with Citrix on OmniVista 2500 Virtual Machine Manager, a new solution with NetApp and a new alliance with QLogic. The Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 2500 Virtual Machine Manager is Citrix Ready for Citrix external link XenServer, XenDesktop and XenApp.
Provider of integrated data storage and data management solutions external linkNetApp has said that it is working with Alcatel-Lucent to provide a solution blueprint that leverages its enterprise-class Hadoop architecture for improved performance in analyzing big data sets. And, external linkQLogic Corp., a provider of high performance data, server, and storage I/O solutions, said that it welcomes Alcatel-Lucent to its NETtrack alliance program.
Recently, the company announced that it is working with Citrix to accelerate the arrival of a new class of 'carrier cloud' solutions that delivers high-performance cloud services designed to address the most stringent requirements of service providers, enterprises and consumers alike.
