Alcatel-Lucent CEO to Deliver Keynote at ITU Telecom

The GITEX exhibition and the ITU Telecom are two of the largest technology events on Dubai’s calendar. Both events are to be held October 14-18 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center.

Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), which has had considerable success in the Middle East, will have a presence in both events, and will be participating at Gitex 2012 for the second consecutive year.

Ben Verwaayen (News - Alert), CEO at Alcatel-Lucent who is visiting Dubai for the first time, will deliver the keynote at ITU Telecom and join a special panel discussion on innovation.

Every year, GITEX technology week holds a themed Global Leaders Summit, and this year's theme will be 'Build Your Own Destiny' (BYOD). Here, global brands can access the Middle East, regarded as the fastest emerging and investment ready ICT market.

Discussions will be regarding what IT and business leaders need to do to support their organization’s growing need for ubiquitous mobility.

The focus will also be on the power of innovation, broadband rollout and competition in Middle East and Africa, and the growing importance of the personal cloud in enterprise network.

Emphasis will also be laid on the accompanying challenges that big data, 10Gig migration, data center consolidation and real-time voice and video integration bring in their wake.

To reinforce these aspects, Alcatel-Lucent will be presenting several workshops and take the opportunity to announce new telecom projects in the Middle East.

At ITU Telecom World 2012 in Dubai, the Young Innovators’ Competition finalists will get to interact with high-level industry reps, receive hand-on workshop training and an opportunity to showcase their projects to the event's audience.

The Alcatel-Lucent team will be available at Stand ZB 10, Zabeel Hall for Gitex 2012.

A recent case study demonstrated how AREG, a waste disposal company in Germany, tackled its communication challenges by turning to Alcatel-Lucent's OmniPCX Office solution to effectively combine fax, e-mails and telephone options into an integrated solution.
