Altair Semiconductor (News - Alert), a developer of 4G LTE chipsets, has reached a milestone achieving the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Chipset certification – good news for Ecrio, a provider of real-time communications client software solutions for the mobile industry.
According to Eran Eshed, cofounder and vice president of marketing at Altair, this paved the way for the successful integration of Ecrio's (News - Alert) Mobile Communications Client Suite (MCCS) client software into Altair's global FourGee chipset portfolio.
Ecrio is committed to working closely to support Chipset, ODM and OEM vendors in accelerating their LTE (News - Alert) product certifications and deployments with operators. Officials noted that its pre-certified software, documentation and solid technical support has contributed greatly to the acceleration of the integration and certification process.
Altair’s FourGee-chipset portfolio is suitable for integration in devices such as USB dongles, portable and fixed LTE/Wi-Fi routers, tablets and smartphones, and can be used in single-mode LTE applications as well as multi-mode LTE+2/3G applications.
Ecrio's MCCS, built-in modular and scalable FlexIMS architecture has been successfully launched on multiple operator networks and smartphone devices, and solves the challenges of sharing complex communication among multiple applications and devices.
Together then, the solution is expected to help meet operator demand, improve time-to-market, accelerate the availability and reduce the cost of launching new connected devices on 4G LTE networks.
The Altair-Ecrio integration comes at a time when Ecrio plans to expand into a growing range of mobile and connected 4G LTE device types, including LTE machine-to-machine (M2M) devices and home gateways.
Altair Semiconductor, a developer of 4G LTE chipsets, is significantly expanding its global activities and the company is all set to increase chipsets volumes shipping to India, Europe, Asia Pacific and the U.S.
