The tour is called the Alcatel-Lucent (News
- Alert) Enterprise Dynamic Tour 2012, and the theme is BYOD – as in Build Your Own Destiny. The tour is a promotional event that endorses BYOD – as in Bring Your Own Device, by educating businesses about the most efficient resources like architecture and security, for businesses to deploy while incorporating the trend into their work environment. The lineup consists of industry experts and talented members of the Alcatel-Lucent team.
The announcement includes these four reasons to attend: A keynote delivered by executives and customers; break-out sessions focusing on collaborative conversation, data center and the cloud; demonstrations of Application Fluent Network solutions; and an opportunity to share knowledge and experience with peers, partners, industry experts, and Alcatel-Lucent executives.
The tour, which began in Düsseldorf, Germany on May 21, will circle around the globe making four stops in the U.S. in New York, Dallas, Chicago and Pittsburg, and eventually end on September 18 in Lyon, France. The scattered venues that Alcatel-Lucent has lined up for its tour is telling of the company’s influence in the global market. Just recently, Alcatel-Lucent launched YouConnect in France to improve mobile shopping. Because the company is always making headlines for their innovative services, it’s not surprising that they are the most recent recipients of the Best Content Solution title by World Vendor Awards.
BYOD is a topic that is often met with contention; however, it's hardly a fleeting trend. In many industries, executives encourage their employees to make efficient use of their technology, but the tools that employees choose for this often vary. On top of the concerns that executives have for adapting their IT operations to accommodate the diverse array of devices, they must also address the need to accustom IT operations to meet requirements of the ever-evolving devices, as well. Maintaining security becomes trickier. Since Alcatel-Lucent is a global leader in mobile innovation, the tour is certain to address an array of concerns that will enable businesses to continue to grow along with the evolving mobile industry
