Huawei to Provide LTE RAN Equipment to Bell Mobility

Huawei (News - Alert), a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently announced that Bell Mobility has selected its LTE (News - Alert) RAN (radio access network) equipment to further expand its LTE wireless network across Canada. The network already covers 6 million users in Canada.


With Bell LTE network, the users can run business applications, watch videos and download files at a faster pace. Initially the 4G LTE network will provide access to peak speeds up to 75 Mbps (expected average speeds of 12-25 Mbps). As the 4G LTE network and devices evolve, the network will provide even greater speeds, approaching 150 Mbps.

In related news, Bell Canada (News - Alert) and Queen's University recently announced a world-first with the establishment of a new $1 million research initiative to help fight the stigma associated with mental illness. The Bell Mental Health and Anti-Stigma Research Chair will enable Queen's Faculty of Health Sciences to advance its anti-stigma research, scholarship and outreach programs.
