Columbitech Mobile VPN Earns Motorola SymbolPLUS Validation

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Columbitech announced its mobile VPN solution successfully achieved SymbolPLUS validation through completing Motorola’s (News - Alert) Solution Validation Program. The program includes joint testing at the Motorola Solution Center in Holtsville, New York. Through Motorola Solutions Validation Program, Columbitech’s mobile VPN was granted the SymbolPLUS Validated Software logo, assuring customers and partners of system interoperability between Motorola devices and Columbitech’s solution.

Motorola’s Solutions Validation Program enables partners to test and validate their mobility solutions on Motorola products. It is designed to enhance interoperability efforts and meet customers’ application-specific needs. It is also expected to help reduce both the risk level and time to deployment for the customer.

Optimized for WiFi (News - Alert), 3G, WiMAX, and EV-DO networks, Columbitech’s mobile VPN is a software-based security solution. It offers safe and uninterrupted access to corporate data. Columbitech has developed a mobile VPN called AirBEAM and it is used by retail, government and enterprise customers for its safety aspects.

“Motorola’s validation of Columbitech’s Mobile VPN software demonstrates the strength and capabilities of our product to complete a rigorous testing program successfully,” said Lars Lavén, senior systems engineer at Columbitech. “Our customers and partners will view this as another example of our commitment to provide security across as many wireless devices in the industry, making it as easy and secure as possible for daily activities.”

Columbitech’s mobile VPN has now been tested and co-validated by Motorola Solution Center’s engineering team for interoperability with select products, including the MC35, MC50, and MC70 enterprise digital assistant, and MC9000 mobile computer. Several other Motorola devices are in the works as well, as Colubiatech’s solution a variety of operating environments, including DOS, Pocket PC, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows XP and Vista.
